"(...)terrific bassist Roland Fidezius."
Raul Da Gama, 08/2014
On "Bite My Blues"..."Roland Fidezius is credited with effects, but that sideline in no way hides the bludgeoning attack to which he subjects his four-string. Sticking to electric on Bite My Blues, Fidezius produces a vehement grumble similar to Lemmy Kilmister's and Chris Squire's, without himself wielding their characteristic Rickenbacker. Regardless of make, the bass here sounds pugilistically forthright."
Neil Hobkirk, wallofsound.ca, 2014
One of the "best musicians of the German Capitol."
Reinhold Horn, Plärrer, 02/2011
Another professional could be witnessed on the double bass, who impressed with good timing, melodic passages and especially with a variety of sounds in the high register.

» ODDSHOT «
Germany´s Band ODD SHOT, led by bassist Roland Fidezius, plays quirky, composition-driven avant-jazz that sounds fresh despite its obvious indebtedness to the NYC downtown scene.
Time Out, New York, 9/29/05
Convincing. ODD SHOT are the evidence of how the Berlin jazz-scene supports
its offspring.
Berliner Zeitung 01/06/03
The concept of the band ODD SHOT, which will release its first convincing album "Oscar & Emma" soon, is based on themes composed exclusively by bass-player Roland Fidezius. With them, the four musicians juggled and improvised in the bar of the consol-theatre to the delight of the audience. What began slowly, emerged fast into energetic strudels of odd and always changing rhythm patterns. And those were spured on by altoist and clarinettist Benjamin Weidekamp and trumpeter Richard Koch immensely. Alone or in dialog there were hunting after the melody, always pushed by the precise beaten drums of relentless drummer Rudi Fischerlehner and the warm double bass impulses of Roland Fidezius. This music, played by four expressive instrumental voices, swing accomplished between fluid grooves and beautifully weird and bulky moments. And last but not least this all happened to the great pleasure of the audience
Buersche Zeitung/Ruhrnachrichten 21.05.2005
It only took one year till the band of the bass-player and composer Roland Fidezius found its individual sound full of authenticity and expressiveness. Instead of letting it go, the band members indulge themselves in vivid interaction of trumpeter Richard Koch and saxophonist Benjamin Weidekamp. Roland Fidezius and drummer Rudi Fischerlehner are in charge of the solid Groove.
Zitty, calendar of Berlin events, Tip of the day 01/06/03
"A very good thing, underlined by quartet ODD SHOT from Berlin with saxophonist and clarinettist Benjamin Weidekamp from Muenster and their rhythmical-complex, explosive and independent modern jazz."
Zeitungshaus Bauer, 5/21/2005
» On ROB BAUER CONSORT CD «
"...the latter is supported by the sensitive and sophisticated rhythm-section: Silvia Bauer on drums and ROLAND FIDEZIUS on double bass." .
